Which size should you order?

First -- the 15, 30, and 45 Amp Powerpoles all use the same housings, and will all mate with each other.  Your choice is determined by what wire size you are using.   Most likely, 95% or more of your connections can be made with the 30A size.  #10 wire is a tight fit in the 30A terminals, and you may not get every strand in.  Then again, if a few strands of #10 wire is going to make a difference, you need to be using larger wire!  Some folks prefer to use the 15A terminals for #16 and smaller wire.  We use the 30A for everything, folding the smaller wires double, triple, or quadruple to get more "meat" inside the barrel of the connector.  Either way is fine.
Need something more than 45A?  We now carry 50, 75, 120, and 180 Amp Powerpoles too!

A note about our crimpers:

The new Andy-Crimp Pro™, the original Andy-Crimp™, and the Coax Crimpers we sell here all use the same frame (handles).  We offer die sets separately for all of them.  That means if you've purchased any of those tools from us, you can simply swap out the dies for different jobs. 
Some of our competitors will tell you that their dies only fit their tools, and vice versa.  To put it gently, they're mostly fibbin'.  We'll tell you straight out that our dies will fit many other tools.  No, we can't tell you if they will fit your particular tool.  But if your dies look like the one in the picture, ours will almost certainly fit your handles.

Powerpole housings are now available in a permanently bonded set.  Faster and easier assembly, and (almost) foolproof.  They conform to the ARES/RACES/EmComm standard, and of course mate with the "regular" Powerpoles.  Eliminates the need to use the troublesome metal pin -- or any other scheme -- and allow use of the locking and retaining clips shown below.

We offer many options for mounting your Powerpoles.  They offer a great deal of flexibility.  For example, when using a 4-pole or 8-pole snap-in mount, you can plug and unplug 2 or 4 individual cables, or use the cable mount housings.  We suggest using the latching cable housings in high vibration environments, or where access is difficult.  Use the non-latching housings where you want the connector to detach before damaging the wiring or attached equipment.  All of the mounting options below are for the 15/30/45A series housings.

Note that in the assembled 8-pole mounts below, two of the sets are "flipped over" so that the red housings are all in the center.  This is done to prevent the possibility of accidentally plugging in a cable with reversed polarity.  We urge you to follow this example if you assemble your own cables and connectors.

While red and black are the standard colors for (nominal) 12-Volt DC connections, you may wish to use different colors to identify specific circuits or equipment.  We strongly urge you NOT to use different colors in the standard configuration for different voltages.  But yes, we do offer a solution for other voltages, as well. 
All of the following housings are the standard 15/30/45A size and work with all of the mounting options above.

If you need more than 45A of current, or have a long run to your power source, or just need to have the minimum possible voltage drop along the way, you should consider using bigger Powerpoles.  They work just like the 15/30/45A ones -- but they're a lot bigger.
