These cables and connectors fit most HF radios made by ICOM, Yaesu,
Kenwood, and Alinco from the 1980s through the early 2000s. At left
is a close-up of the connector. If your radio was made by one of
those four manufacturers, and the connector looks similar, then this is
the right part. Newer HF Radios -- like the ICOM IC-7000, Kenwood
TS-480, and Yaesu FT-450 use a different 4-pin plug. Scroll down the

Almost all Handie-Talkies, and many other accessories, use one of the
following four cables. Here's an easy way to determine which one you
need. Get out a standard drill bit assortment. Cable-13 is
very close to 9/64". Cable-17 is very close to 5/32. Cable-21
and Cable-25 are both very close to 7/32", BUT -- a 3/32"
bit will slip inside of Cable-25 and will NOT slip inside of Cable-21. |
